About Me

About Me

I’m Farzana Iqbal, a counsellor supporting people through grief, anxiety, low self-esteem, and other emotional or personal challenges.

My experience includes working as a bereavement counsellor at a local hospice, supporting people through some of the most painful and life-changing moments of their lives. Grief can bring feelings of overwhelm, sadness, loneliness, anger, guilt, or even relief — emotions that can feel difficult to share with others. It can leave you questioning who you are, your sense of purpose, and how to move forward.

In our sessions, I provide a safe, compassionate space where you can speak openly and honestly, without pressure or judgment. Together, we explore your thoughts and emotions, helping you make sense of your loss and begin to rebuild a life that allows space for hope and meaning again.

Alongside my private practice, I also provide counselling through Employee Assistance Programmes (EAPs), supporting clients navigating stress, burnout, workplace pressures, and personal transitions. Having previously worked in a corporate environment, I understand the challenges of balancing demanding roles, high expectations, and the need to look after your own wellbeing.

My approach is mainly person-centred, creating a trusting and empathetic space where you feel genuinely heard and accepted. You lead the way — and I walk alongside you. When helpful, I integrate other approaches to best support your unique needs.

I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists) and hold both professional indemnity insurance and an enhanced DBS certificate (Disclosure and Barring Service).
